TacklePRO Snapper Catcher Rigs

A Snapper Catcher rig is basically a dropper rig with the hook hidden and disguised by the use of  feathers and or flashy material to help entice the bite.

These rigs come in a variety of colours.  The idea is to put a bite sized amount of bait onto the Hook so the fish can swallow it in one go thus catching the hook through the side of the mouth.

No casting off the back of the boat – the snapper catcher should ideally be placed underneath the boat.  Hook Size 5/0 Available in various colours

TacklePRO Snapper Catcher Rigs

A Sabiki rig is typically fished off boats, piers, jetties, or any structure over the water. Sabikis consist of any number (usually between 3 and 4) of small hooks, each one on individual dropper lines which are a few inches long.

The individual dropper lines are then tied to a longer leader in series, about 6 inches (15 cm) apart; a weight is tied to the end of the leader.

Each hook is decorated as lures or tied like flies similar to those used in fly fishing. Often they have a simple piece of lumo-infused material or iridescent film attached to them.

Traditionally, on any individual rig, all of the lures will be either identical or in an alternating sequence of colors. The type or size sabiki used depends on water conditions, species of fish sought or simply the angler’s preference.
